Rigel Medical – Arab Health 2011 Preview

The new 377 high performance electrosurgical analyser will be one of the new products Rigel Medical (Hall 7G17) will be launching at Arab Health 2011. Also new will be improved version of the Med-eBase PC software for use with its comprehensive range of medical device testers and advanced simulators.

The company will also be using the opportunity to reveal its new brand positioning for spearheading its growth across markets in the Middle East.

The Rigel 377 features a range of easy-to-use custom settings, including a variety of test sequences and power distribution curves which make testing faster, easier and more accurate. Compliant with IEC 60601-2-2, it is capable of checking to within high degrees of accuracy the correct and safe performance of electrosurgical devices during routine, type and production line testing.

Rigel’s Med-eBase V2 software for use with all its medical device testers and advanced simulators will be available to stand visitors. This has been upgraded to provide enhanced electronic recording and management of medical device safety testing programmes using vital signs simulators like the SIM range (BP/SP/Uni) among other instruments.

John Backes, divisional manager for Rigel Medical, said: “We again look forward to Arab Health, which is a key show for us and the launch platform for new products over the years into the important Middle East markets.

“Our new brand positioning, built around involving customers in the development of test equipment, will underpin our marketing push there and elsewhere. We will be looking to engage even more customers in providing us with feedback, insight and suggestions for new and future products and improvements.

“Indeed, the idea for Med-eKit followed feedback received from a previous Arab Health, highlighting how much we value customer input and our ‘Innovating Together’ philosophy.”

Also showing will be the Rigel UniSIM – the first hand held, combination vital signs simulator – a new trolley case-based biomed field service kit called Med-eKit and the 288 hand held safety analyser.

The UniSIM is the only simulator capable of undertaking six tests, enabling medical device engineers to quickly, easily and accurately undertake NIBP, SpO2, ECG, temperature, IBP and respiration functionality tests simultaneously using a single portable instrument.

Med-eKit is a customisable trolley based package which can incorporate a wide range of biomedical test equipment. Suitable for field service engineers requiring an easy-to-use and accurate solution for testing medical devices whilst on-the-move, the Med-eKit is unique when it comes to portable test solutions.

It features hand-held analysers for electrical safety (Rigel 288), NIBP (Rigel BP-SIM) and SP02 (Rigel SP-SIM), a battery operated patient simulator, defibrillator analyser, ventilator tester, printer and barcode scanner and asset management software housed within a compact and lightweight wheeled Pelican trolley case.

The Rigel 288 hand held safety analyser is designed to ensure the in-service safety of electromedical devices and systems in line with EN / IEC 62353 ‘recurrent test and test after repair of medical electrical equipment’, IEC 60601 and several local standards.
