Job Title: Business Development Manager Northern Europe
Department: Rigel Medical
Reports To (Job Title): Rigel Divisional Manager
Job Purpose
- Manage sales growth through existing Northern European Distribution network
- Acquire new distribution partners in Eastern Europe and Baltic region
- Developing new business through targeted prospecting of Key Accounts
- Providing the business with accurate forecasting of business opportunities
- Monitor market behaviours and trends and adapt strategies where required to ensure the best possible outcome
- Providing excellent levels of customer support through;
- Delivering products demonstrations and training
- Organising and delivering informative seminars
- Participating in local and national exhibitions
- Providing detailed reports to enable improvement of business processes
Hard Data
Sales
- Hit monthly territory intake target
- Responsible for hitting department activity based KPI’s
- Identify at least 4 new Key Accounts (>£50K) per annum
- Regular distributor meetings, frequency based on potentials
- Substantial travel is required for this position
Other areas:
- Provide monthly update on Market opportunities, quotations (won / lost), intake vs target, install base and competitor info.
Accountabilities
a) Developing the sales strategy and setting sales targets for each country by product, by market sector (i.e. manufacturing, service or hospitals).
b) Managing and developing the Northern European Distribution Network
c) Inform operations with accurate production forecasting by region
d) Identifying various routes to market in line with the company’s target market sectors.
e) Developing and maintaining a key account portfolio within the territory.
f) Providing both technical and commercial support & training to the distribution network
g) Identifying new product opportunities within the medical sector.
h) Identifying and supporting marketing activities within the territory.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Technical qualification to a minimum of HND-level or equivalent
- Management Qualification to NVQ 4-level or equivalent
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Proven track record in achieving international sales targets in B2B sales
- Experience in successfully managing a multi cultural network of distributors
- Experience in identifying strategic sales and product opportunities
- Experience in successfully launching new products to market
- Proven track record in developing key accounts
- Being able to conduct business in German is considered an significant advantage
- Excellent Time Management Skills
- Professional communication skills in English both written and spoken English.
- Good understanding of electronics and in specific test and measurement equipment and techniques, preferably those used within the medical industry.
- Valid EU driving license
- Substantial travel is required for this position
